Starting with tools release 8.98.3.0 for 9.0 you can now take advantage of the new quick deployment function.  This function allows you to deploy packages containing UBE’s or APPL’s at any time without affecting the system and without any down time.  When a package with UBE’s is run a hold will be placed on each UBE that is in the package until the deployment has completed meaning no locks are needed and other UBE’s that are not in the package can be running while you are deploying your package.  This function only works with packages containing UBE’s and APPL’s; if you have any other types of objects then you will need to wait and deploy as you usually would.
